The Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2026, held in Beijing from October 19-22, is set to release over 100 outcomes concerning standards, platforms, and open cooperation. Chinese financial authorities will also announce new policies for financial reform and development during the event.
This year's forum introduces new thematic meetings focused on insurance and investment, aiming to further support the real economy, according to Zeng Linfeng, acting head of Xicheng District in Beijing. This marks a shift from previous sessions, emphasizing finance's role in broader economic development.
Expanding its international reach, the conference will feature events at an African sub-venue for the first time and include a live connection between Beijing, Hong Kong, and London. Over 400 key participants from more than 40 countries and regions are expected to attend.
Established in 2012, the Financial Street Forum is considered a significant indicator of China's financial reform. The conference, themed "building an open, collaborative and inclusive ecosystem for global financial development," is co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government, the People's Bank of China, the National Financial Regulatory Administration, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Xinhua News Agency, and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
