Summa Defence Plc announced that a project awarded to its subsidiary, Uudenkaupungin Työvene Oy, has been halted following an appeal from an unsuccessful bidder. The contract, issued by the Belgian agency DAB Vloot, concerned the production of SWATH vessels intended for operations in the North Sea.

An unsuccessful tenderer challenged the award and selection process, filing an application for suspension with the Belgian Council of State. The legal intervention prevents the start of the project while the court evaluates the procurement procedure.

The contract, initially announced by Summa Defence on September 30, 2026, represented a significant order for the shipbuilding subsidiary. The suspension remains in effect until the court issues a ruling on the appeal.
