Ben Becker takes first step towards zero-emission distribution with electric Scania
Logistics company Ben Becker has put its first fully electric distribution truck, a Scania 23P, into service. The vehicle marks a significant step in reducing the company's fleet emissions.
Ben Becker Internationaal Transportbedrijf, based in Soest, has introduced its first fully electric truck: a Scania 23P box truck with a closed body. This vehicle is a key part of the company's efforts to reduce emissions in its Benelux operations.
The new truck represents a significant transition for Ben Becker towards zero-emission distribution. Equipped with the low P-cab and a 356 kWh battery capacity, it will be used for daily distribution tasks. The company aims to gain experience in electric driving, route planning, and charging infrastructure.
Ben Becker is a versatile logistics provider with locations in the Netherlands and Belgium, serving approximately 2,000 addresses daily within the Benelux region. The introduction of the electric Scania is part of a broader strategy to enhance operational sustainability and efficiency.
The company is also investing in charging infrastructure at its own site and participating in a local energy cooperative to facilitate efficient charging. Ben Becker has also utilized available subsidies, such as AanZET and SPRILA, to support the transition to electric vehicles.
