Bengaluru-based Tonbo Imaging reports Q2 net profit of ₹23.5 Cr

Bengaluru-based Tonbo Imaging reported a consolidated net profit of ₹23.5 Cr for the quarter ending in September, a significant turnaround from the ₹9.6 Cr loss recorded in Q2 of the previous fiscal year. The company's operating revenue reached ₹183.3 Cr, representing a substantial year-on-year increase from the ₹8.9 Cr reported in the same period last year.

The firm, which specializes in imaging and sensor systems for surveillance and weapon targeting, saw its quarterly revenue climb 409% compared to the preceding quarter, when it recorded ₹36 Cr in revenue and a net loss of ₹17.7 Cr. The financial results indicate a recovery in operational efficiency despite a rise in total expenditures.

Total expenses for the period reached ₹153.7 Cr, up from ₹21.6 Cr a year prior. However, the surge in operational income offset these costs, allowing the company to post a profit before tax of ₹31.4 Cr. Tonbo continues to focus on the production of thermal imaging systems and missile seekers for the defence sector, a market currently seeing heightened demand for domestic technology solutions.
