Bentley Flying Spur: Over a Decade of Luxury Sedan History

Bentley is reflecting on the significant history of its Flying Spur sedan, with the model's origins dating back to 2005. The initial Continental Flying Spur was introduced that year as a four-door counterpart to the Continental GT Coupé.

Serving the market until 2012, the first generation offered a blend of performance and luxury. It was powered by a 6.0-liter W12 twin-turbo engine, capable of exceeding 306 kilometers per hour (190 mph). The lineup also included a potent "Speed" variant in 2008, reaching 322 km/h (200 mph), and the Series 51 version, which emphasized design and customization.

In 2013, the second generation was released, featuring a sharper design and enhanced technology, including a rear touchscreen for controlling infotainment and comfort features. Engine options expanded to include V8 and V8 S versions alongside the W12. The series concluded with the 2016 Flying Spur W12 S, pairing increased power with a distinctly sporting character and premium interior.

The Flying Spur has consistently represented Bentley's commitment to delivering a four-door luxury vehicle that combines high performance, craftsmanship, and travel comfort. The model's evolution mirrors the manufacturer's pursuit of blending traditional values with modern technology and design.
