Bentley Names Fourth Model Series Torcal, First Electric SUV Debuts September 23
Bentley Motors has revealed the name of its newest model series as Torcal. The company's first all-electric SUV, set to debut on September 23, will represent Bentley's fourth distinct model line.

Bentley Motors has announced the name for its latest vehicle series: Torcal. This new line will stand alongside the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga, establishing it as Bentley's fourth main model family.
The name Torcal is derived from the El Torcal de Antequera natural reserve in Andalusia, Spain, recognized for its extensive, millions-of-years-old limestone formations. Additionally, the word shares linguistic roots with "torque," signifying power.
The first fully electric SUV under the Torcal designation is scheduled for its official unveiling on September 23. This move is part of Bentley's broader strategy to attract new customer demographics with electric vehicles, while continuing to cater to its existing clientele with combustion engine and plug-in hybrid options.
Bentley's internal combustion engine models are planned to remain on sale into the 2030s. A second-generation Bentayga, which will feature a plug-in hybrid system, is also expected to be released in the coming years.
