Bessemer Venture Partners raises $5.75 billion for AI investments
Venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners has raised $5.75 billion across two new funds to invest in AI-focused companies. The capital will be allocated to seed and growth-stage investments.
Bessemer Venture Partners announced on Wednesday that it has raised $5.75 billion through two new funds. The firm intends to accelerate its investments across all facets of the artificial intelligence sector.
Of the total amount, $1.75 billion is designated for seed and early-stage investments, while the remaining $4 billion is allocated for growth-stage startups. Bessemer has previously backed companies such as Anthropic, Cognition, Legora, Perplexity, Ramp, and Shopify.
The firm is recognized for its significant role in the Software as a Service (SaaS) era. Since 2022, Bessemer has invested in over 260 AI-native companies, deploying approximately $3 billion into AI-related ventures. These investments span areas including computing power, infrastructure, foundational models, developer tools, and application-layer solutions.
Bessemer states that AI-native companies are currently scaling faster than any technology category the firm has previously supported. The firm also noted that the sustained trend of companies remaining private for longer periods necessitates the expansion of capital reserves to support these companies throughout their development cycles.
