Bethesda’s Fallout 76 reaches 25 million player milestone

Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 76 has surpassed 25 million total players since its 2018 release. The studio plans to continue providing content updates.

2 November 2026

Bethesda announced that Fallout 76 reached 25 million cumulative players as of October 2026. The title, which initially launched in November 2018, has seen consistent growth in its user base, bolstered by its inclusion in major subscription services such as Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

Industry analysts note that a significant surge in player activity occurred in April 2024, following the debut of the Amazon television adaptation of the Fallout franchise. This cross-media success provided a substantial boost to the game’s visibility.

Creative director Jonathan Rush and production director Bill LaCoste confirmed that Bethesda will continue to support the game with new content. While the 25 million figure accounts for total players rather than direct unit sales, it reflects the longevity of the project, which has evolved through updates since its initial release.
