Beyon expands green data center capacity in Bahrain

Technology group Beyon is expanding its renewable energy infrastructure through the fifth phase of its solar park program. Developed in partnership with Almoayyed Solar, the initiative represents an investment of approximately BD544,500 and spans 14,000 square meters, utilizing 2,292 solar panels to support critical digital infrastructure.

Once completed, the 1.5 MWp installation is projected to generate 2.5 GWh of clean energy annually, resulting in a reduction of over 1,585 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. This milestone marks the integration of a third data center into the company’s green energy portfolio, following the previous conversion of its Tier III certified facility in Hamala.

Beyon Group CEO Andrew Kvaalseth stated that integrating sustainable power into data centers is essential for the future of the digital economy. The company aims to balance the scaling of cloud and data services with a commitment to resilient, low-carbon infrastructure.

In addition to its data center operations, the group has successfully applied this solar program to its customer contact centers earlier in 2026. This ongoing initiative aligns with Bahrain’s broader sustainability objectives and provides a framework for the group’s future infrastructure investments.
