Biggest Funding Rounds of the Week: Cyber and AI Infrastructure Each Secure Billion-Dollar Deals

Artificial intelligence (AI) once again dominated venture funding this week, claiming five of the ten largest announced rounds in the U.S. Significant financings were seen in AI infrastructure and cybersecurity, including two billion-dollar deals.

Cybersecurity firm Keyfactor raised a $1 billion private equity round. The Independence, Ohio-based company offers digital and machine identity management software for enterprises. Summit Partners led the round, with participation from Insight Partners and Sixth Street Growth. Keyfactor has now raised a total of $1.21 billion.

SambaNova, based in Palo Alto, California, officially announced a $1 billion Series F funding round for its AI infrastructure development. The deal, led by General Atlantic, valued the company at $11 billion post-money. SambaNova develops AI chips and enterprise AI solutions for training and inference workloads. The company has raised nearly $2.5 billion to date.

Alongside AI, investors also channeled substantial capital into quantum computing, geothermal energy, crypto infrastructure, and aerospace startups. Oratomic secured $300 million for its quantum computing hardware, and Quaise Energy received $134 million for its technology to access deep geothermal energy.
