Binance Invests $100 Million in Circle, Renews Partnership
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced a $100 million equity investment in Circle and the renewal of a five-year strategic partnership.

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced a $100 million equity investment in Circle Internet Group. The companies also expanded and renewed their strategic partnership for a term of five years. Under the agreement, Binance will promote Circle's USDC stablecoin across its global platform, with a focus on emerging markets.
As part of the investment, Binance purchased $100 million worth of Circle shares. The purchase price reflected a five percent discount to Circle's market price prior to the transaction's closing. Circle will continue to provide the infrastructure services that support the holding and use of USDC.
Binance CEO Richard Teng stated that the investment and five-year commitment signify long-term conviction in Circle's position as a stablecoin issuer. "We are helping to build a more inclusive, transparent, and compliant digital economy," Teng said. He emphasized that a trusted digital dollar should be accessible to everyone.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire added that Binance has built one of the largest platforms for digital currency usage. "Together, we see incredible opportunities to leverage USDC to expand dollar access, support savings and investment, and reach people and businesses in global emerging markets," Allaire said.
The strategic partnership aims to further the adoption of USDC in cryptocurrency transactions and facilitate broader access to the U.S. dollar in digital form globally.
