Binance Marks Nine Years, Expands into Traditional Finance

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance is marking its ninth anniversary in July 2026, announcing a user base exceeding 323 million registered individuals globally. The company has grown significantly from its launch in July 2017, when fewer than six million people worldwide owned cryptocurrency. Today, that number surpasses 741 million, with Binance reporting that approximately 43% of all crypto holders globally now use its platform.

Binance, recognized as the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has extended its operations into traditional financial markets. The company has incorporated stock trading, ETFs, and pre-IPO perpetuals into its offerings, leveraging its blockchain-native infrastructure. These new services enable stablecoin settlements, 24/7 market access, and cross-asset functionality within a single platform.

The company reports that its new traditional finance products have seen strong early traction. Since March 2026, the monthly trading volume for these services has exceeded $80 billion. The launch of direct stocks in June 2026 reached $1 billion in assets under management (AUM) within 30 days, and trading volume for tokenized U.S. securities also saw significant figures in a short period.

Binance's strategic vision is to become the world's leading financial super app, consolidating trading, payments, savings, and access to global markets. The company aims to serve over three billion users, targeting markets historically underserved by traditional financial institutions. Its crypto infrastructure is seen as a key enabler for this, offering cost efficiency and extensive reach. The exchange's cumulative trading volume over its lifetime has surpassed $156 trillion.
