Binance Pay Enables Payments at PayPay Merchants in Japan
Binance Pay users can now make payments at Japanese PayPay merchants via the HIVEX platform. The service expands cryptocurrency payment options for international travelers visiting Japan.
ABU DHABI, UAE – September 29, 2026 – Binance announced today that eligible overseas Binance Pay users can now make payments at PayPay-supported merchants nationwide in Japan through the HIVEX platform. The service goes live on September 30, 2026.
This interoperability allows approximately 48 million eligible Binance Pay users across more than 100 countries and regions to make purchases at millions of merchant locations in Japan. PayPay merchants will continue to receive settlement in Japanese yen.
The rollout is designed for travelers visiting Japan and aims to expand Binance Pay's presence in one of the world's most advanced cashless payment markets. It seeks to support spending across dining, shopping, accommodation, and other travel-related purchases.
Binance states that the integration with PayPay bridges digital assets with familiar fiat-based payment experiences, offering travelers more ways to pay and enabling merchants to better serve international customers.
