Binance US Seeks $100 Million Funding at $1 Billion Valuation

Binance US, a cryptocurrency exchange, is reportedly seeking to raise up to $100 million in funding at a valuation of around $1 billion. A source familiar with the matter indicated that the capital infusion aims to fuel the expansion of the company's operations within the United States. The terms of this fundraising round may still be subject to change.

The company had previously raised over $200 million in 2022 at a pre-money valuation of $4.5 billion. However, its market share has seen a decline following the 2023 settlement between Binance Holdings Ltd. and U.S. authorities.

BAM Trading Services Inc., which operates Binance.US, functions separately from the global Binance exchange. Despite this, Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao holds a significant stake in both entities. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission had named both BAM and Binance Holdings in a lawsuit that was subsequently dismissed on May 29, 2025.

Binance US is exploring options for external trading liquidity, potentially through global Binance, although no definitive approach has been decided. Additionally, the exchange is working to reinstate certain state money-transmitting licenses and is actively recruiting market makers through a formal program.
