BinBase Updates US BIN Data to Optimize Card Transaction Fees
BinBase has updated its 2026 USA BIN Database with Durbin Regulation flags and network routing indicators. The update aims to help merchants reduce their transaction costs.
Miami – July 22, 2026 – BinBase, a provider of card issuing and payment analytics data, has released significant updates to its 2026 BIN Database, focusing on the US market. The enhancements include identification for Durbin-regulated cards, routing indicators for debit networks, and identification of Level 2/3 commercial cards, designed to help merchants significantly reduce their transaction fees.
Processing credit and debit cards in the United States involves a complex regulatory environment. The Durbin Amendment caps interchange fees for debit cards issued by regulated US banks (those with over $10 billion in assets). Without accurate and updated BIN-level data, payment gateways can route cards suboptimally, leading to higher processing costs.
The updated BinBase database offers new features for optimizing US payment traffic. These include direct identification flags for Durbin-regulated cards, granular routing indicators for major US debit networks like STAR, NYCE, and Pulse, and information on commercial cards eligible for Level 2/3 transactions. These features assist B2B merchants in lowering their interchange rates.
