BioStack secures $9.5 million to develop medical AI training data

BioStack, a healthtech startup founded in 2025, has raised $9.5 million in seed funding led by Peak XV Partners, Afore Capital, and DCVC. The company specializes in building data infrastructure by aggregating fragmented clinical information, including electronic health records, medical imaging, and clinical notes, to support the development and training of medical AI models.

CEO Sanat Mishra stated that the firm aims to bridge the gap between siloed clinical data and actionable insights for researchers and clinicians. To date, the company claims to have processed 100 million de-identified patient records and millions of medical images and audio transcripts.

The capital will be used to accelerate international expansion in the U.S., India, Brazil, and Argentina, as well as to scale the company's research and engineering capabilities. BioStack currently supports various clinical workflows, including disease modeling, patient stratification, and biomarker discovery.

This funding underscores the growing market for specialized AI training datasets. As the medical industry increases reliance on AI, companies capable of processing high-volume, compliant clinical data are becoming critical components of the broader global health technology supply chain.
