Bitcoin Nears $80,000 Amid Crypto Market Rally
Cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, are experiencing a significant rally, with Bitcoin approaching $80,000. The surge is occurring amid concerns over the U.S. deficit and inflation.

The cryptocurrency market is currently in a notable rally, with Bitcoin prices nearing the $80,000 mark. Bitcoin was trading around $79,912 on Monday, up 3.5%, while Ethereum saw gains of over 2% to approximately $2,500. This upward movement comes as investors consider concerns about the U.S. deficit and inflation.
Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio has also weighed in, warning investors of a potential debt crisis within three to five years. Dalio advised underweighting debt assets like bonds and overweighting gold and Bitcoin, stating that the "government's financial condition is at an inflection point."
The rally follows last week's performance where cryptocurrencies saw gains of up to 20%. The market sentiment is also influenced by the U.S. Treasury's bond buyback program and legislative efforts, such as President Donald Trump's push for the Clarity Act crypto bill.
However, some analysts express caution. Jonathan Krinsky of BTIG noted that Bitcoin experienced a similar 20% surge over three days in January 2023, only to retreat afterward. Traders on the Kalshi platform anticipate Bitcoin prices to stabilize at current levels for the remainder of the year, rather than continuing to climb significantly.
