Bitget Expands Open API for CFD Trading

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has expanded its Open API infrastructure to include support for Contracts for Difference (CFDs). This integration provides algorithmic, quantitative, and institutional traders with programmatic access to a broader range of global markets, such as forex, gold, crude oil, and stock indices.

The update addresses operational inefficiencies for traders currently managing multi-asset portfolios across fragmented platforms. By incorporating CFD markets into the same API environment used for cryptocurrency trading, Bitget aims to streamline execution workflows and data monitoring. Users can now automate orders, retrieve real-time market data, and manage risk parameters like stop-loss and take-profit settings through a single infrastructure.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen described the expansion as a move to better serve professional traders who require high-performance tools that mirror their existing workflows. According to the company, this infrastructure upgrade is designed to accommodate multiple CFD account modes and specific instrument configurations.

This development follows Bitget’s broader strategy to position itself as a universal trading platform. By bridging the gap between crypto and traditional asset classes through shared API connectivity, the firm intends to capture a larger share of the professional trading market, where unified strategy management is increasingly prioritized.
