Technology firm Bittium Oyj is enhancing its defense and security communication solutions with a focus on future-proofing against advanced cyber threats, including post-quantum cryptography.

Oulu-based technology company Bittium Oyj is strengthening its position as a provider of communication solutions for the defense and security sector. The company offers modern products and systems for tactical and secure data transmission, enabling the sharing of broadband data and voice across the battlefield.
Key areas of development include post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and the quantum-safe updated Bittium SafeMove® Mobile VPN software. This addresses future threats where quantum computers could potentially break current encryption methods. The company's Bittium Tough Mobile 2 C smartphone has achieved NATO approval, signaling its suitability for classified communication needs.
Bittium's solutions encompass tactical IP networks, radio links, mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), software-defined radio (SDR) systems, and secure LTE solutions. Additionally, the company is developing tactical VoIP devices and network management solutions aimed at improving troop communications and decision-making capabilities.
The company has also engaged in collaborations, including a partnership with KNL to deliver seamless hybrid communication solutions for defense applications.
