Bittium Strengthens Defense Sector Position with Multiple Agreements

Finnish technology company Bittium Oyj has recently solidified its position within the defense sector through a series of significant agreements and partnerships.

In early June, the company finalized a software maintenance agreement for the Estonian Defence Forces' tactical communication system. Concurrently, Bittium announced its enablement of hybrid networking, bridging the tactical edge with strategic command.

Bittium also disclosed in early June the integration of AI-powered situational awareness capabilities into its software-defined radios. In May, the company participated in NATO CCDCOE's Locked Shields 2026 cyber defense exercise. Furthermore, Bittium's tactical communication networks are expanding their deployment across the Croatian Armed Forces.

Reporting on its business review through November 2025, the company also noted a change in its industry classification attributes to robust growth in its defense and security business. Bittium has also entered into a collaboration with Spain's Indra and reinforced its role as a key security technology supplier to the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA).
