Bittium's Q1 Revenue Grows 10.2%, Driven by Defense Sector Demand

Bittium Oyj announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, showing a stronger performance than anticipated. The company's revenue rose by 10.2% year-over-year to EUR 21.3 million, largely driven by heightened demand within its Defense business.

Operating profit improved significantly, reaching EUR 2.8 million, which represents 13.2% of revenue. The net profit for the period was EUR 1.5 million. This enhanced profitability reflects the positive impact of product-based revenue growth on margins, alongside ongoing operational efficiency improvements.

Cash flow from operations saw a substantial increase, growing to EUR 28.1 million from EUR 9.2 million in the prior year. This strengthens Bittium's financial capacity for future growth initiatives. New orders received totaled EUR 34.8 million, and the company's backlog reached a record high of EUR 92.5 million.

The Defence & Security business segment reported a revenue growth of 24.1%, amounting to EUR 13.3 million. The order backlog in this segment climbed to EUR 84.4 million. Key partnerships were established, including a technology licensing agreement with Spain's Indra Group for Bittium Tough SDR radio technology, securing a EUR 20 million order. Collaborations with KNL Networks Oy and Sensofusion Oy are also reinforcing Bittium's position within the defense technology ecosystem.
