Black Forest Labs Releases FLUX 3 Image Generation Model

German AI company Black Forest Labs announced the release of its new image generation model, FLUX 3 Image, on October 2. The model is capable of producing images with resolutions up to 4K, maintaining detailed fidelity even when magnified.

Built on the FLUX 3 base model, FLUX 3 Image emphasizes user control and fine-grained editing. It allows users to assign an ID, textual description, and precise bounding box coordinates to each element within a normalized 0-1000 grid, enabling exact placement within the generated image.

The model can incorporate up to ten reference images per generation, with the ability to specify the position of objects within each reference image. It also features editing capabilities for designated areas while keeping other pixels unchanged, facilitating precise, multi-turn editing at the pixel level.

FLUX 3 Image is currently available as a paid service from Black Forest Labs. The company stated that an open model version is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
