Blizzard adds native controller support to World of Warcraft: Infinite

Blizzard Entertainment will release World of Warcraft: Infinite on November 4, featuring native controller support as the company seeks to expand its titles across multiple hardware platforms.

29 October 2026

Blizzard Entertainment has scheduled the release of World of Warcraft: Infinite for November 4. The upcoming title revisits the lore and gameplay mechanics established in the original 2004 game, supplemented by a new narrative arc.

A key technical update is the introduction of native controller support, a departure from the keyboard-and-mouse-centric control scheme that has defined the World of Warcraft series for decades. The change is framed by the company as a strategic effort to allow players to access the game on a broader range of hardware.

Holly Longdale, executive producer and vice president, stated that the move is designed to provide increased flexibility. She noted that the initiative aims to blur the lines between gaming platforms, noting that the controller support has already enabled the game to run on portable Windows-based hardware such as the ROG Ally X.
