Blizzard confirms new StarCraft game will not be exclusive

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that its planned new StarCraft game, scheduled for release in 2030, will not be an Xbox exclusive. The company stated that the title will be available on at least one additional platform beyond Microsoft's console.
The clarification came from Blizzard officials in response to inquiries from Kotaku following the 2026 BlizzCon event. Blizzard confirmed that the open-world shooter will not be an exclusive release. However, the company declined to provide further details regarding the specific platforms, leaving open the possibility of a release on systems such as Sony's PlayStation 6, in addition to Xbox and PC.
This new installment in the StarCraft series is categorized as an open-world shooter. Promotional material has previously shown Terran Marines undergoing training and gearing up, with the narrative potentially focusing on the experiences of ground troops, possibly set during or before the events of StarCraft 2.
