Blizzard rolls out documentary series ahead of World of Warcraft: Infinity launch
Blizzard Entertainment is promoting the November 5 release of World of Warcraft: Infinity with a three-part mockumentary series.
Blizzard Entertainment has begun its promotional campaign for the upcoming PC release of World of Warcraft: Infinity, scheduled for November 5. The company launched the first episode of a three-part mockumentary series titled Planet Azeroth, featuring British comedian Bill Bailey, who explores the game’s world using a narrative style modeled after traditional wildlife documentaries.
The remaining two episodes are set to air on October 31 and November 8. The production showcases the game’s updated lighting and graphical enhancements, highlighting iconic environments such as Elwynn Forest and Tirisfal Glades. These visuals aim to frame the game's creatures within the context of a nature series.
World of Warcraft: Infinity utilizes a "Classic+" model, focusing on the exploration and social mechanics of the original game while limiting modern convenience features. Data indicates that over one million players participated in the testing phases; however, the long-term player retention rate remains a primary point of observation for industry analysts.
