Bloomberg's ASKB AI Now Integrates Customer-Uploaded Data
Bloomberg's conversational AI, ASKB, has been enhanced to incorporate users' own Instant Bloomberg chats, worksheets, and files.

NEW YORK – Bloomberg announced that ASKB, its conversational AI interface for the Bloomberg Terminal, is now generally available with expanded capabilities. The AI can now integrate users' own Instant Bloomberg chats, worksheets, and files into its responses.
This development means that ASKB's answers will reflect not only Bloomberg's established market data but also an individual investor's specific context and knowledge. The enhanced AI is designed to provide trusted answers informed by decades of Bloomberg's financial data and the user's own proprietary information.
Wayne Barlow, Global Head of Core Terminal Products at Bloomberg, stated that financial professionals' decisions are shaped by factors beyond market data, including their internal knowledge. Previously, valuable information such as trader conversations or portfolio manager watchlists was outside the scope of AI decision-making tools.
Users can now query their own IB chat history, with ASKB referencing the source chats in its replies. The AI can access up to three months of chat history and understands financial industry acronyms. Similarly, securities within worksheets can be queried directly, allowing ASKB to analyze top performers or companies releasing earnings.
Furthermore, through Bloomberg Drive, users can upload and organize their own files, such as internal research notes or investment theses. These files are now natively queryable within ASKB, allowing responses to draw from both the user's content and Bloomberg's data. The user's private content remains inaccessible to others unless explicitly shared with colleagues.
