Blue Origin delays New Glenn flight to January

Blue Origin confirmed that its New Glenn launch is now scheduled for January, marking a brief delay from the previously targeted December window. The postponement follows a major explosion at the company’s Cape Canaveral launch facility nearly six months ago, which necessitated significant infrastructure repairs. The company continues reconstruction efforts at the site to meet demands from primary stakeholders, including NASA, Amazon, and the U.S. Space Force.

Alongside the scheduling adjustment, Blue Origin disclosed plans for a new kick stage for the New Glenn rocket and a revised engine design. The company aims to restore launch operations to address a growing backlog of heavy-lift requirements from its commercial and government partners.

Separately, space industry development continues to evolve with startups like Argo Space, founded by former SpaceX personnel. The company is developing satellite technology that utilizes water as a primary propellant, coolant, and radiation shield, intending to decrease dependency on Earth-sourced fuels for in-space operations.
