BLUETTI and UN-Habitat Expand Clean Energy Initiative to Nigeria

Clean energy solutions provider BLUETTI and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) have launched their second joint initiative in Nigeria. From September 7-10, solar power systems and other clean energy solutions were distributed in the Benue State, aiming to enhance sustainable energy access in a region where a significant portion of the population lacks grid connectivity.

BLUETTI, known for its portable power stations and solar panels, has partnered with UN-Habitat to promote the adoption of sustainable energy solutions in developing countries. This Nigerian initiative follows a similar project conducted in Zambia, where comparable energy packages were provided. The current project is expected to directly benefit several thousand households with access to clean energy throughout the year.

The implementation in Benue State involves the distribution of solar panel systems, batteries, and associated equipment. Local communities will also receive training on the operation and maintenance of the devices, fostering long-term self-sufficiency. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and improve living standards by providing cleaner and more reliable power.

BLUETTI and UN-Habitat plan to continue their collaboration globally, targeting other regions facing significant energy access challenges. The partnership seeks to address growing energy demands sustainably and support the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7, which ensures access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
