BMKGene outlines quality control standards for single-nucleus RNA sequencing
Biomarker Technologies has detailed the critical quality checkpoints required to ensure data integrity in single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) workflows.

Biomarker Technologies (BMKGene) has released a technical overview focusing on the quality control (QC) requirements for single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq). In a recent instructional video, Senior Field Application Specialist Ziming Zhong outlined how systematic monitoring from initial nuclei isolation to final bioinformatics analysis is necessary for accurate gene expression profiling.
The workflow identifies four specific points where quality must be verified. First, researchers must assess RNA degradation to verify the condition of starting tissue. Second, the isolated nuclei are checked for integrity and debris levels. Third, the resulting cDNA is evaluated for quantity and fragment size distribution. Finally, the raw sequencing output is audited to confirm performance metrics.
BMKGene emphasizes that these checkpoints provide decision-making support, allowing researchers to determine whether to proceed with expensive sequencing or replace the sample material. By standardizing these evaluation steps, the company aims to reduce technical failure rates in single-cell genomic research.
