BMW iX7 electric SUV to debut next year
BMW will launch a new generation X7 lineup next year, including its first all-electric variant, the iX7. The electric SUV is expected to adopt design and technology cues from the iX5.

BMW is set to unveil a new generation of its X7 SUV lineup next year, which will include the model's first all-electric variant, the iX7. This electric SUV will be introduced as part of a broader X7 update and is expected to share technical solutions with the new iX5.
Externally, the iX7's design is anticipated to closely resemble the facelifted i7. Key features will include a prominent split front grille and distinctive lighting elements. Slim daytime running lights will sit above, with the main headlights positioned lower on the front fascia. Traditional door handles will be replaced by BMW's new "Winglets" design, allowing doors to open with a light touch.
Inside, the iX7 will feature a panoramic iDrive system, incorporating a display area spanning nearly the entire cabin below the windshield. The vehicle is also expected to have a large 17.9-inch infotainment screen and an optional 14.6-inch passenger display capable of gaming, streaming video, and video calls.
While specific performance figures for the iX7 have not yet been released, the iX5 serves as a potential reference. The iX5 60 xDrive model features a 141 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering 425 kW of power and 805 Nm of torque. Its 0-100 km/h acceleration is 4.6 seconds, with an estimated EPA range of 700 km. Fast charging at 460 kW allows for a 10% to 80% charge in 23 minutes.
In addition to the standard version, the iX7 is expected to be offered in more performance-oriented all-electric configurations. The gasoline-powered X7 will continue to be available with various engine options.
