BMW M760 xDrive Returns with V8 Power in 2027
The 2027 BMW M760 xDrive will feature a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing approximately 570 horsepower. The vehicle is slated for release in the U.S. market in the first half of 2027.

BMW is reintroducing V8 power to its 7 Series lineup with the upcoming 2027 M760 xDrive model. This new iteration will be equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering an estimated 570 horsepower. The vehicle comes standard with xDrive all-wheel drive, and chassis components have been enhanced compared to the six-cylinder 740 models.
The 2027 M760 xDrive is scheduled to arrive in the U.S. market during the first half of 2027. The expected starting price is set to exceed $126,000. BMW has yet to release full performance specifications and final pricing details.
This new M760 xDrive differs from the previous 760i xDrive in its powertrain. While the outgoing G12 generation featured a 6.6-liter V12 engine, the latest model adopts a 4.4-liter V8. The model name has been revised from M760i to M760, as the "i" suffix is now reserved for BMW's fully electric vehicles.
The introduction of the M760 xDrive aims to fill the gap for a V8-powered option within the refreshed 7 Series range. Unlike its predecessor, the new M760 xDrive will also be available in European markets.
Positioned within BMW's M Performance high-performance product line, the M760 xDrive will sit alongside plug-in hybrid and all-electric M Performance models. Visually, it adopts the M Sport Pro package, featuring 22-inch wheels and distinct M badging. The interior includes an M Sport steering wheel and specific M-themed design elements to differentiate it from standard 7 Series variants.
