BMW (China) Automotive Trading Ltd. has announced a recall for 248 units of its imported Cevolution model motorcycles. The recall addresses issues related to the sealing of wiring harness connectors, which could potentially compromise safety.

The affected motorcycles were produced between July 9, 2015, and September 14, 2015. The concern is that water may penetrate the wiring harness due to inadequate sealing of the connectors. This moisture could reach the 12V connector of the DC-DC converter and cause corrosion.

In severe cases, the corrosion could lead to increased resistance at the connector, causing it to overheat and potentially damage adjacent components. This poses a safety risk to riders. BMW (China) Automotive Trading Ltd. will arrange for authorized dealerships to replace the affected wiring harness kits with components featuring a waterproof design, free of charge to owners, to rectify the issue.
