BMW unveils iX4 electric SUV with 428-mile range for global markets
BMW has announced the iX4, its new electric SUV based on the Neue Klasse platform, offering a range of up to 428 miles. The model is positioned to compete in key global electric vehicle markets.

German automaker BMW has revealed its new iX4 electric SUV, set to enter production on the company's next-generation Neue Klasse platform. The vehicle aims to bolster BMW's presence in competitive global electric vehicle markets.
The iX4 will be the third model built on the Neue Klasse architecture, following the iX3 and iX1. The iX4 50 xDrive variant is slated for a March 2027 release, with a higher-performance M60 xDrive version to follow later that year. BMW has stated the vehicle will offer an estimated range of up to 428 miles (690 km) on a single charge according to WLTP standards.
The iX4 features a coupe-like SUV design, adding a sportier aesthetic to BMW's electric lineup. The launch comes as the automotive industry faces intense competition, particularly from Chinese manufacturers who have rapidly expanded their EV offerings.
This new model underscores BMW's commitment to electrification and its strategy to adapt to evolving market demands, particularly in regions with strong EV adoption rates. The Neue Klasse platform is central to BMW's future electric vehicle strategy.
