Board expands AI capabilities for continuous business planning

Board has rolled out a series of enhancements to its enterprise planning platform, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence across finance and operational business functions. The update expands the capabilities of the company's 'Board Agents' to automate and refine decision-making processes in complex business environments.

Key additions include new causal performance analysis tools for financial planning and analysis (FP&A) teams, designed to explain the drivers behind financial results. Simultaneously, the company has introduced a Merchandiser Agent to assist retail organizations with inventory management, stock allocation, and replenishment monitoring, aiming to reduce the risk of stockouts or excessive markdowns.

Chief Product Officer David Marmer noted that these developments are intended to move organizations away from static planning cycles toward a continuous, adaptive decision-making model. By embedding these AI capabilities directly into existing workflows, Board aims to provide users with actionable insights grounded in consistent enterprise data.

The release also addresses enterprise-level requirements by introducing strengthened governance and scalability features. These tools are intended to ensure that AI deployments remain secure and auditable as organizations scale their usage across multiple departments.
