Board, an AI continuous planning platform, has announced the release of its new Supply Chain Agent and Merchandiser Agent. These additions expand the company's portfolio of domain-specific AI agents aimed at improving organizational planning and decision-making.
The new agents are part of Board's broader vision of "Agentic Continuous Planning," where specialized AI collaborates with business teams to connect strategy, planning, and execution across finance, operations, supply chain, and merchandising. This approach contrasts with the standalone intelligence offered by some generative AI tools, emphasizing the need for business context and governed workflows.
The Supply Chain Agent is designed to help organizations anticipate disruptions, evaluate trade-offs, and respond more rapidly to market volatility. By integrating planning data, operational signals, and scenario analysis within a governed environment, it aims to provide proactive insights and recommended actions.
The Merchandiser Agent targets retailers and consumer brands, focusing on aligning demand, inventory, pricing, assortment, and financial objectives. It assists in analyzing category performance, optimizing inventory investments, and improving product availability, while mitigating markdown risks.
Board CEO Jeff Casale stated that the next wave of AI will make organizations more intelligent. "Our vision is to create an intelligent network of agents that understands how the business operates, collaborates across functions, and helps organizations continuously adapt to change," he said.
