Software company Board has introduced its Continuous Planning Maturity Model, a framework designed to guide organizations in advancing their planning capabilities. The model outlines a progression from manual, spreadsheet-reliant processes to fully automated, data-driven decision-making.
The model charts a path through stages such as "Spreadsheet Wrangling" and "High-Contribution Planning" towards "Agentic Capabilities" and ultimately "Fully Agentic Planning." It emphasizes the integration of technology, data, and governance to create continuously aligned, decision-ready organizations.
Board states that many enterprises still contend with outdated, Excel-based planning methods, leading to inefficiencies, errors, and wasted resources on manual tasks. The new model offers a concrete roadmap to overcome these challenges, enabling a shift towards more effective use of resources by strategic analysts.
Board’s latest release, Board 15, includes significant enhancements to the planning experience. New features like "Docked Charts" and improved layouts allow for analysis and visualization within a single environment, reducing the need for external tools and boosting planner efficiency at an enterprise scale.
