BOC Hong Kong Achieves First-Time AA+ Rating in Sustainability Index

BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) has achieved significant recognition for its sustainability performance, rising to an "AA+" rating for the first time. This upgrade to the second-highest level, as announced for the 2026 assessment, marks an improvement from the "AA" level the group had maintained for years.

The company's score significantly exceeded the financial industry average of 57.1 points. This positions BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) as the top-performing bank in its sector and places it within the top 10% of all 636 listed companies and 61 financial institutions evaluated. Notably, its corporate governance score is leading the financial sector.

The results, released by Hang Seng Indexes Company, acknowledge the group's efforts and excellent practices in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) areas. The rating also fully demonstrates the company's potential and value in sustainable development.

BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) has been a constituent stock of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index and the Hang Seng (Mainland) Composite Index since 2026, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainability.
