Boeing confirmed on September 2nd the delivery of the last three O3b mPOWER satellites to SES, the satellite communications operator. This marks the completion of manufacturing and delivery for the initial set of 13 satellites. The final three are slated for launch from Florida's Space Coast this month.

The O3b mPOWER constellation operates in Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) utilizing Boeing's 702X satellite platform. The satellites feature software-defined payloads, allowing for dynamic bandwidth routing and capacity adjustments based on real-time user demand.

SES has stated that the performance of the 10 satellites already in orbit has validated the architecture's effectiveness. The MEO network serves a range of clients, including cruise lines, government entities, and commercial airlines. SES has deployed over 100 gateway stations globally to support the constellation's operations.

The technology provides low-latency, high-throughput connectivity. Boeing is leveraging the flight-proven software-defined payload architecture from O3b mPOWER for its work on the Wideband Global Satellite Communication systems for the U.S. Space Force.
