Boeing Opens New Training Facility in Shanghai
Boeing has opened its new training center in Shanghai, China. The expanded facility will provide training for pilots and maintenance personnel to meet growing industry demand in Asia.

Boeing announced the official opening of its newly relocated and expanded training center in Shanghai, China. This facility represents a significant investment in the company's aviation training capabilities and strengthens its partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region.
The center is equipped with full flight simulators for the Boeing 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner, along with other training devices. It also features specialized classrooms for instruction and maintenance training, a computer training room, and multiple briefing rooms. Boeing originally established its Shanghai training center in 2009 and has since trained over 7,000 aviation professionals.
Boeing projects a global need for nearly 2.4 million new aviation professionals, including pilots, maintenance technicians, and cabin crew, over the next 20 years. The Asia-Pacific region alone is expected to require over 700,000 of these professionals during the same period.
The new facility will focus on competency-based training and assessment (CBTA), emphasizing practical skills, decision-making, and safe operation in commercial aviation. The center also continues Boeing's global educational outreach programs to inspire future aviation professionals and support industry growth.
