Boliden to acquire controlling stake in Nexa Resources

Swedish mining company Boliden AB announced today it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a controlling stake in Nexa Resources S.A. The transaction is with Votorantim S.A., the current majority shareholder of Nexa Resources.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Boliden's position in the zinc sector and expand its operational footprint into South America. Nexa Resources operates significant zinc mines and smelters in Peru and Brazil.

Financial terms of the transaction have not yet been disclosed. Both parties anticipate the deal will close by the end of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Boliden is a European metals company engaged in the mining, smelting, and recycling of metals. Nexa Resources is one of the world's largest zinc producers.
