Bombardier Adds Ka-Band High-Speed Internet to Challenger 650 Aircraft
Bombardier is expanding high-speed Ka-band internet connectivity to its Challenger 650 business jets. The service is also available as a retrofit for existing Challenger 604, 605, and 650 series aircraft.

Bombardier has begun offering its high-speed Ka-band internet technology on new Challenger 650 business jets. The Ka-band system, described as the industry's fastest in-flight Wi-Fi with worldwide coverage, is now also available as a retrofit option for in-service Challenger 604, 605, and 650 series aircraft through Bombardier's service network.
This Ka-band connectivity allows passengers to browse the web, stream media, and conduct video conferences with speeds comparable to office or home internet. Bombardier was the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to introduce Ka-band technology in business aviation, with initial installations on its Global aircraft starting in September 2016.
"High-speed internet access is a top priority for our business aircraft customers, and Bombardier continues to lead the industry in optimizing the in-flight experience by launching Ka-band on Challenger 650 aircraft," said Brad Nolen, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Bombardier Business Aircraft.
Retrofit installations are available through Bombardier's extensive service network. These service centers enable operators to optimize aircraft downtime by scheduling Ka-band installations concurrently with scheduled maintenance checks and other upgrades.
The Challenger series aircraft have set the standard for reliability, efficiency, and productivity in the business aviation sector for over 30 years. With more than 1,600 aircraft in the installed base, the Challenger fleet has accumulated over 3.3 million landings and 5.7 million flight hours.
