Bombardier Agrees to Sell 40 Challenger 3500 Jets to Vista
Bombardier has secured firm orders for 40 Challenger 3500 business jets from Vista, a longtime customer. The deal is valued at $1.18 billion, with options for an additional 120 aircraft.
Bombardier announced a significant order Tuesday from Vista, a customer since its inception, for 40 of its Challenger 3500 business jets. The firm order, valued at $1.18 billion based on 2026 list prices, also includes options for an additional 120 aircraft. If all options are exercised, the total value of the 160 aircraft could reach $4.72 billion.
The Challenger 3500 is Bombardier's super-midsize business jet, noted for its performance, reliability, and cabin comfort. The model achieved 100 deliveries faster than any other platform in its category in 2024. Bombardier stated the aircraft boasts a dispatch reliability rate exceeding 99.8% and the lowest direct operating costs in its class.
Bombardier President and CEO Éric Martel highlighted the order as a testament to the aircraft's appeal and its suitability for Vista's operations. "Vista has been a valued Bombardier customer since they began operating," Martel said in a statement.
Vista, a global provider of business flight solutions, views the order as part of its strategy to prepare for future demand and enhance client experience. Thomas Flohr, Vista's Founder and Chairman, described the agreement as reflecting "leadership, preparedness and client experience."
