Bombardier and Rolls-Royce Enhance Aircraft Health Monitoring

Bombardier and Rolls-Royce have introduced an enhanced aircraft health monitoring program for operators of the Global 5500 and Global 6500 business jets. The upgrade integrates Bombardier's Smart Link Plus data collection system with Rolls-Royce's new Pearl 15 engine vibration and health monitoring unit (EVHMU).

The Smart Link Plus system collects crucial aircraft data, allowing flight and maintenance crews to make data-driven decisions for dispatch, troubleshooting, and tracking service needs. Approximately 450 Bombardier aircraft are currently equipped with Smart Link Plus, reporting a 99% renewal rate among its users.

By incorporating the Rolls-Royce EVHMU, customers gain access to approximately 10,000 engine performance and health parameters. This enables proactive troubleshooting and maintenance by automatically transmitting engine data to Rolls-Royce during and after each flight.

Select Global 5500 and 6500 customers can now schedule appointments for the installation of both the Smart Link Plus box and the Rolls-Royce EVHMU at Bombardier Service Centres worldwide. Both systems will also be factory-installed on all new production Global 5500 and 6500 aircraft.
