Bombardier delivers first Global 6500 aircraft to U.S. Army for HADES program

Bombardier Defense has handed over the first Global 6500 aircraft to the U.S. Army during a ceremony in Wichita, Kansas. The delivery represents a move by the military to modernize its aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities using a commercial-derived platform.

The aircraft is set to become the primary airframe for the High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES) program. The U.S. Army intends for the platform to provide greater altitude, speed, and endurance compared to current legacy sensor aircraft, enabling more effective deep-sensing operations.

With the airframe now delivered, the program will transition to the systems integration phase, where specific surveillance technology will be installed. Andrew Evans, director of the Army's HQDA G-2 ISR Task Force, stated that the aircraft's payload capacity and operational range are essential for meeting current and future joint collection requirements.

Bombardier maintains in-house engineering teams to support the integration of military-specific modifications. The Global 6500 platform, noted for its high dispatch reliability, is intended to support the military’s strategy for long-endurance missions across diverse operational environments.
