Bombardier delivers first Global 8000 business jet

Bombardier Inc. has delivered its first Global 8000 business jet to a customer. The handover ceremony took place at the company's manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

The Global 8000 is designed to reach a top speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest civil aircraft in service since the Concorde supersonic transport. It offers a range of 8,000 nautical miles and features a cabin altitude of 2,691 feet, reportedly the lowest in business aviation.

The first customer, Patrick Dovigi, a long-time Bombardier client, accepted the aircraft, which replaces his previous Global 7500. The aircraft completed its flight testing program earlier this year, meeting its development schedule. Transport Canada has certified the aircraft, while approvals from the FAA and EASA are pending.

According to Bombardier, the Global 8000 is configured with four distinct cabin zones and a dedicated crew rest area. Its advanced wing design is intended to allow for takeoff and landing from a wider range of airports, including shorter runways.
