Bombardier delivers seventh Global 6000 aircraft to U.S. Air Force
Bombardier Defense has delivered its seventh Global 6000 aircraft to the U.S. Air Force for the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) program. A multi-year contract supports a critical communications platform.
Bombardier Defense has delivered its seventh Global 6000 business jet to the U.S. Air Force (USAF) for its Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) program. The delivery took place at the company's Hartford Service Centre in Connecticut.
The aircraft, designated E-11A by the USAF, is part of a previously announced multi-year contract with a potential total value of nearly $465 million. Bombardier has already supplied six Global aircraft to the BACN program under prior agreements.
The Air Force retains the option to purchase additional aircraft annually through 2026 under the 2021 contract. The Global aircraft serve as high-altitude communication gateways, relaying or bridging voice and data between air and surface forces, overcoming geographical obstacles.
These high-flying "Wi-Fi in the sky" platforms are utilized globally for critical missions. Bombardier Defense provides modification services and integration solutions for specialized mission aircraft.
