Bombardier Global 8000 Obtains Environmental Product Declaration

Bombardier Inc. announced that its Global 8000 business jet has received an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This certification assesses the aircraft's entire lifecycle environmental footprint.

The Global 8000 joins Bombardier's other EPD-certified models, including the Challenger 650, Challenger 3500, Global 5500, Global 6500, and Global 7500. The company states it is the only business jet manufacturer to disclose scientifically analyzed environmental impacts for all its aircraft in production.

The EPDs provide details on the aircraft's carbon dioxide emissions throughout various stages, from raw material extraction to end-of-life. Bombardier positions the publication of these declarations as part of its strategy to enhance transparency and promote sustainability within the aviation industry.

Stephen McCullough, Bombardier's Executive Vice President for Engineering, Product Development and Bombardier Defense, noted the importance of EPDs for transparently reporting environmental impacts. He also highlighted the Global 8000's performance and potential for both civil and defense applications.

The Global 8000 is described as the world's fastest civilian aircraft, with a top speed of Mach 0.95 and a range of 8,000 nautical miles. Bombardier emphasizes that integrating the EPD process into product development is a core component of its responsible strategy.
