Bombardier Global 8000 Receives FAA Certification
Bombardier's Global 8000 business jet, which has achieved Mach 0.95 speed, has received certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The aircraft is already certified by Canadian authorities and has entered service.

Montreal – Bombardier Inc. announced its Global 8000 business jet has obtained type certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This follows the aircraft's certification by Transport Canada on November 5, 2025, and its entry into service in December 2025.
Certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is still pending. The Global 8000 achieves a top speed of Mach 0.95, positioning it as the fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde, with a range of 8,000 nautical miles.
At a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet, the Global 8000 features a cabin altitude of 2,691 feet, reportedly the lowest in production business aviation. Bombardier states this feature reduces physiological stress for passengers, enabling them to arrive more refreshed.
The FAA certification marks a final step in the aircraft's development program. Stephen McCullough, Bombardier's Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, stated that the FAA approval sets new industry performance standards. The Global 8000 competes in the ultra-long-range business jet market, emphasizing both speed and distance capabilities.
