Bombardier Global 8000 sets speed record on Montreal to Nice flight
Bombardier's new Global 8000 business jet has set its first speed record on a flight from Montreal, Canada, to Nice, France. The journey was completed in just over six hours.

Bombardier announced its Global 8000 business jet has achieved its inaugural speed record on a mission from Montreal, Canada, to Nice, France. The flight took just over six hours to complete, marking a significant achievement for the aircraft's performance.
The Global 8000 is designed for high-speed, long-range travel. Bombardier states its top speed capability is Mach 0.95, making it one of the fastest civil aircraft available. This particular record highlights the jet's ability to connect distant locations rapidly.
The company also emphasized the aircraft's cabin environment, noting it maintains the lowest cabin altitude in production business aviation, equivalent to 2,691 feet. This feature is intended to reduce passenger fatigue on long journeys.
These speed records are pending review by the World Air Sports Federation (FAI). Bombardier President and CEO Éric Martel was onboard the record-setting flight en route to the Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
