Bombardier invests $50 million in Wichita site expansion

Bombardier has initiated a $50 million investment project at its Wichita, Kansas, operations, aimed at expanding both physical infrastructure and technical training. The cornerstone of the investment is the newly inaugurated North American Learning Center, which will focus on training new aircraft technicians and mechanics to support the company’s expanding U.S. service network.

Beyond training, the funding covers the expansion of the Wichita site’s wheel and tire maintenance facility. This upgrade is intended to bolster the company’s component repair and overhaul capabilities, aiming to improve safety and operational efficiency across its service centers.

Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President of Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Aftermarket Services, stated that the move is designed to deepen onsite expertise and support long-term growth. Kansas Governor Laura Kelly noted that the investment strengthens a partnership that has seen the site evolve into Bombardier’s U.S. headquarters since 2019.

Bombardier currently employs approximately 3,500 people in the United States across ten service and manufacturing locations. The company continues to adjust its operational footprint to accommodate the servicing needs of its aircraft fleet, with Wichita remaining a central hub for these support activities.
